Nowadays some parents would like to take on everything for their children, including their study, job and even marriage. Of course, most of them do so out of love. They hope they can lead their children to the best life and the shortest path to success. However, it doesn’t help children a lot but make then become too much dependent. It’s high time for parents to help their children develop independence. Here are some suggestions for them. First, parents should give their children chances to make their own decisions, which is a necessary step to be independent. Second, parents should encourage children to work out problems by themselves. when children meet difficulties, parents can offer some help or teach them methods if necessary, but should not solve it for them. Third, to give children increasing responsibility is helpful. Children should understand that they should be important givers to the family but not only takers. To grow to be independent is the natural way one has to go through. Therefore, I do hope parents can benefit from the suggestions mentioned above and help their children become a self-sufficient person.
