1. Don't fear it. People will correct you, and as long as you accept that, you will understand the language very quickly. English is a very difficult language to learn properly, but it is very easy to make yourself understood, even if your grammar is not perfect. 2. Work on your pronounciation. More than grammar, learning how to say the word correctly is important. I have encountered a number of North Americans who cannot understand foreigners who use perfect grammar because of pronounciation. Meeting with other Americans will help you to do this, as will watching American television (it will also help you with idioms, that is to say certain phrases that are specific to North American culture) 3. Listen and read as much as you can in English, rather than your native tongue. Even if you don't understand it all, you'll be hearing the sounds and it will make it easier for you to speak them.
