I was unable to be with them for their 60th birthday as I was held up at work thus I always felt sorry towards them. Therefore, I want to go home to spend the new year with them. I had a 4-5 days leave in December but I didn't return home as the trip alone would add up to 4 days. So even if I did return home, I could stay for a day only and my parents would be very upset. Also, that day when you phoned me, you said I bought tickets to the beach. Perhaps it was too noisy and you didn't hear it clearly so you thought I bought tickets home.
